Botox®
Botox®, or Botulinum Toxin, is a facial injectable used in non surgical cosmetic treatments to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles of the face by weakening the muscles it is injected into. It can be used to effectively reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead creases, and brow lines. Botox® can also be used to treat excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, by injecting into the sweat glands of the armpits, feet or hands.

Fillers – Juvéderm™, Voluma™, Restylane®
Facial fillers are non surgical treatments which can be used for facial rejuvenation, and include Juvéderm™, Voluma™ and Restylane®.
Juvéderm™ and Restylane® are facial injectables made from hyaluronic acid that can be used to refresh the different regions of the face. They are commonly used to fill wrinkles, correct bags under the eyes (tear trough deformity) and contour areas such as the chin, nasolabial folds or cheeks.

Voluma™ is a new product from Allergan. It is a hyaluronic acid filler which is designed specifically for use in areas requiring more volume. This may be used to fill out the hollows of the cheek or recreate the appearance of high cheek bones. Due to the make-up of Voluma™ and the areas it is used, it often lasts longer than other fillers.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin rejuvenation can involve skin resurfacing, skin tightening and reducing skin pigmentation. Some of the laser resurfacing techniques can treat a number of conditions including discolouration, fine lines, deep wrinkles, acne scarring and broken blood vessels. The laser used at the clinic is the Sciton® and can treat problematic areas of the skin. Dr Shortt will discuss with you the appropriate laser skin rejuvenation techniques, according to your specific needs and desired outcome.
