Brow Lift

GRACEFULLY EMBRACE THE NATURAL AGING PROCESS AND FEEL GREAT ABOUT YOUR APPEARANCE.

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that involves careful consideration of the face, eyes, eyelids, tear troughs, forehead and the symmetry of the face. There are many factors that affect the aging process of the brows and forehead, including sun damage, facial expression, gravity, and genetics.

A brow lift can improve the appearance of the eyes and forehead, particularly a downward expression, frown lines, or forehead creases. People often feel that their eyes look “closed in” and they want everything to me more “opened up”. There are other surgical techniques that may be considered with a brow lift, including facelift, eyelid or blepharoplasty, temple lift, laser skin rejuvenation, and facial injectables, which can also significantly improve the expression of the face. Dr Shortt will discuss these facial cosmetic surgery techniques during your consultation and go over the pros and cons of the different procedures to help you best meet your goals.
Dr Shortt will go over your options, so you feel that your surgery is specifically planned for you.

When to consider having this procedure?

Candidates for brow lift surgery, which may accompany other surgical procedures for facial rejuvenation or a facelift, are generally aged 50 – 70+ years, are in good health and are able to have general anaesthetic, and may have one or more of the following characteristics:
N

desire to improve the expression of the face and decrease the appearance of frown lines or forehead creases

N

brow lift surgery to accompany other surgical procedures such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or face lift surgery

N

desire a more youthful appearance by lifting the brow and “opening” up the eye area

N

are planning to have other facial rejuvenation surgery already

N

self conscious of facial appearance due to sun damage, chronic facial expression, gravity or genetics

What is the recovery time?

In general, the recovery time following brow lift surgery is approximately 2-4 weeks. As with any surgery under general anaesthetic, there are potential risks or complications to consider. During your private consultation, Dr Shortt will take a thorough medical history from you, discuss your surgical options or surgery that may compliment your brow lift surgery, explain the complete procedure and potential risks, what to expect pre and post surgery and your estimated recovery time.
