Men
LOOK GREAT FOR YOUR AGE. RESTORE YOUR YOUNGER, ENERGETIC LOOK.
For men more than women, plastic surgery needs to be subtle. Men want the results, but they don’t want people to know they had any work done. Men want to look refreshed. They want to look strong, vibrant and confident. They want to look athletic. The important thing though is to not overdo it.
Men are becoming more and more interested in taking advantage of plastic surgery to enhance their appearance and the way they feel about themselves. As we age, we loose the quality of our skin, wrinkles develop and skin hangs. This creates jowls, wobbly necks, heavy upper lids and eyebrows. The lower lids start to bulge and there becomes a clear demarcation between the eyelid skin and the cheeks. Surgery can improve all of these areas.
For men the goal is to look vibrant, strong, and confident for your age. We are not trying to make you look twenty years younger, but rather a more awesome version of you. We know that you don’t want anyone in the world to know you had anything done. That is why the changes made are more discreet. Get the refreshed look that you want, without the telltale signs.
Dr Shortt will go over your options, so you feel that your surgery is specifically planned for you.
Procedures for Men
Some of the most common surgical and non-surgical plastic surgery treatments for men include:
The goals in facial surgery for men include:
Make you look great for your age
Subtle changes so people won’t know you had surgery done
Most common surgical treatments of the face for men include blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and brow lift
The most common non-surgical treatments are fillers, Botox (R) and laser rejuvenation
Gynaecomastia (also known as male breasts or man boobs) can be one of the most distressing cosmetic conditions that men have.
It can happen to anyone. They can be fit or overweight. Men with this often avoid taking off their shirts in public. They often avoid going swimming or to the beach. If they do, they wear a shirt. Often they wear two shirts to better conceal the area, or even a compression shirt under their regular clothes. They complain that they can’t wear the tight fitting clothes they want to because of their chests. Often guys work out like crazy to get super fit, but won’t show anyone.
The good news is there are treatments to consider for gynaecomastia, including plastic surgery. The most important thing is to make sure that it is not a health concern. There are a number of causes for gynaecomastia that are perfectly natural, but there are others that are not, and need to be ruled out. A consultation with your doctor or a specialist can help diagnose the cause of gynaecomastia.
Liposuction is an amazing technique for improving contour in a stubborn area.
Liposuction involves removing fat by suction through a cannula that is gently passed back and forth in the area of fat for removal. It is best suited for people that do not have a lot of extra fat, but rather an area that is stubborn.
The most common areas for men to have liposuction include:
the love handles
the paunch below the belly button
around the chest for gynaecomastia
Liposuction can do a great job to remove these areas of fat. The skin then tightens up over the next couple of months leaving a flattened, more aesthetically pleasing contour. The best part is that the scars are very tiny and fade away over time, so that it is very difficult for anyone to know you had surgery.
